Test Method
  1. After adding all materials according to the formulation, disperse using a high-speed disperser at 2000 r/min for 15 minutes.

  2. Solvent systems:

    • Xylene : Butyl acetate : PMA = 1 : 1 : 1

    • Xylene : n-Butanol = 4 : 1

    • Xylene

  3. After cooling, measure the viscosity of the pigment paste. Draw down the paste using a 100μm applicator to observe color development, and measure gloss and L-value.

Test Results

The fineness of all the above pigment pastes is <10 μm.

Dispersant Recommendations for White Paint in Polyester System
6402 — The "All-Rounder" in the 3871 System

Core Advantage:
Rheological performance is nearly perfect. Not only is the initial viscosity extremely low, but after 7 days of hot storage, the viscosity decreases instead of increasing — making it the dispersant with the lowest viscosity after hot storage among all tested.

Overall Performance:
In addition to excellent viscosity reduction, its gloss (20°/60°) and L-value are also among the best in the system. All performance indicators are well balanced.

6110 — The Choice for Ultimate Gloss, with Higher Viscosity as a Trade-off

Core Advantage:
Best-in-class gloss performance. After 7 days of hot storage, its 60° gloss reaches 109.1, and its L-value reaches 93.66 — outstanding appearance performance.

Main Disadvantage:
Higher viscosity. Although the initial viscosity is acceptable, it increases significantly after hot storage.
